The rural village of Kozara, near Gradiška in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, is quietly emerging as a distinctive destination for high-end eco and nature tourism.
During a recent visit to the newly developed Kozara Panoramic Resort, the Mayor of Gradiška, Zoran Adžić, described the project as a transformative opportunity for the region.

“This is the first serious boutique resort of its kind in our area. It combines premium accommodation, privacy, gastronomy and unspoiled nature. It represents a major step forward for rural tourism in Gradiška and beyond,” he stated.

The mayor emphasized that projects like this contribute to revitalising villages such as Kozara, which in past decades experienced population decline. Local authorities have expressed readiness to further improve infrastructure, road access and energy stability to support continued tourism development.

A Vision Rooted in Nature and Quality

Founded by James and Dragana Truscott through their company PEVA d.o.o., Kozara Panoramic Resort was created with a clear vision: to share the untouched beauty, silence and clean air of the Kozara region with guests from across Europe and beyond.

“Our idea was simple — create a place where people can truly rest. Clean mountain air, privacy, heated private pools, and high-quality interiors — all in the middle of nature. We wanted guests to feel both luxury and authenticity.”

The resort consists of five architect-designed private chalets, each accommodating up to six guests. Every chalet offers:

  • Private heated swimming pool
  • Panoramic valley views
  • High-end furniture and interior finishes
  • Complete privacy
  • Self-catering comfort with curated local product options

Organic Agriculture & Local Community Integration

A distinctive feature of the project is its integration with organic agriculture. The estate is currently undergoing organic certification, offering blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and seasonal vegetables cultivated on-site.

Local families from the Potkozarje region are engaged in preparing traditional dishes and supplying homemade products, supporting both the rural economy and authentic guest experience.

The City of Gradiška, in cooperation with its Development Agency RAGA and the Department for International Projects, has signaled its willingness to support further rural tourism initiatives linked to the project.

International Guests Already Discovering Kozara

Although still finalizing exterior landscaping, the resort has already welcomed international guests, including visitors from Greece during the winter season — many of whom are returning.

With its combination of exclusivity, silence, agricultural authenticity and contemporary comfort, Kozara Panoramic Resort represents a new model of boutique countryside luxury in Southeast Europe.
